The Challenge
Almac needed a robust, reusable packaging solution for transporting temperature-sensitive eye drops equipped with Escort Data Loggers. The packaging had to securely hold both individual components and boxed units, while supporting their sustainability goals.
Our Solution
We designed a custom two-tier reusable box:
Tier 1: Precision-cut foam inserts to protect Escort Loggers and product vials
Tier 2: Dedicated space for boxed units, secured with internal dividers

Use Case: Northern Ireland Health Trust – Specialist Limb Boxes for Sensitive Medical Transport
The Northern Ireland Health Trust approached us with a highly sensitive requirement: they needed a hygienic, respectful, and secure way to transport fetal remains from hospitals to the morgue. The solution had to be both functional and discreet, ensuring dignity throughout the process while meeting strict hygiene and safety protocols.
We worked closely with the Trust to design and supply a specialist reusable plastic box, now referred to internally as the Limb Box. This container needed to:
Maintain cleanliness and be easy to disinfect after each use
Include a secure fitting lid to prevent spillage or tampering
Be stackable for storage but easily identifiable for quick access
Ensure dignity and care during the entire handling and transportation process
By switching from single-use cardboard or improvised containers to our purpose-designed reusable solution, the Health Trust achieved:
